Introducing the Blue Chyp Balcony Chassis: A Game-Changing Innovation in Water Management

At Blue Chyp, we are continuously innovating and striving for excellence. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we have been granted a patent for a revolutionary new balcony chassis with integral drainage. This product represents the culmination of over 5 years of research and development, and an investment of over £2.7m. We believe it will be a game-changer in the construction industry, both in the UK and Europe.

The Blue Chyp balcony chassis is designed to be easy to install and requires minimal maintenance. Its integral drainage system ensures that water is quickly and effectively channelled away from the balcony below, reducing the risk of leaks and water damage. The chassis is also made from high-quality materials that are resistant to corrosion and wear, making it a long-lasting investment for any building.

But that’s not all! We are proud to be the first balcony system to achieve “NHBC Accept” certification, which is widely recognized as the standard for new homes in the UK. Our product is also in line with LABC and Premier technical guidance, making it suitable for use in a wide range of construction projects.

So, what sets our balcony chassis apart from the competition? The key is in its “porous” perimeter beam at the front edge. When water lands on the balcony floor, it passes through the floor and is collected by angled plates or channels. These plates then direct the water to the front edge of the chassis and to a perimeter beam with an inlet and an outlet.

This product represents a major step forward in water management for balconies in the UK and Europe, with its “porous” edge beam, angled plates (or channels), and deflector system.

Here’s where things get really interesting: a deflector is used to divert the water flow horizontally outward from the outlet and beyond the balustrade line of the balcony below by 30mm, in compliance with BS8579:2020. This ensures that water is effectively channelled away from the building, reducing the risk of leaks and water damage.

We believe that the Blue Chyp balcony chassis with integral drainage is a game-changer in the construction industry, and we can’t wait to see it in action on more buildings all around the UK and Europe.
