Technical Designer responsibilities;
Producing working drawings for each project and to ensure these drawings comply with the project specifications, customer requirements, current regulations and structural engineering requirements.
Create fabrication packs and issue to purchasing for the projects. To include; Assemblies, Parts, DWG/NC formats if required, Material Lists, Bolt Lists, Latest GAs. Assembly drawing list (FDI register, Fabrication Drawing issue register – to be re-issued if any revisions occur).
Issue all the drawings to the client via the file-sharing site (4Projects, Asite, Docelite, DataQ), including the client/architect.
Discuss the designs with the project contacts, build timelines for design completion before the formal issue of the drawings.
To contact the engineers to request a quote, await approval from senior management, then issue the calculations to the client.
Attending technical meetings with Main Contractor, Architect, Project Engineers, Project Managers and Head of Design etc. to discuss the project details.
Attending to the correspondence of a technical nature relating to the current project.
Ensuring all drawing office procedures are carried out in accordance with the Company’s quality manual.
Create drawings for each balcony type and update the drawing issue register.
Upload submitted drawings to SharePoint, for Project Management team.
Create and issue drawings or 3D modelling for any promotional materials.
Occasional travel within the United Kingdom may be required
At least 2 years experiences of Solidworks and or Tekla
Microsoft 365 package (Outlook, SharePoint, One Drive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Windows-based system/drives, with weekly backup to SharePoint.
At least 5 years’ experience in a previous Design position would be beneficial, with completed design software training.
At least 2 years of experience working with; balconies, balustrade, facades, metalwork fabrication, in a design & management base company, product design, or the construction industry.
BEng in Civil Engineering or Architecture or other related disciplines would be advantageous.
Needs to be self-motivated, technically competent, and have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
An experienced Installations Supervisor is needed at Blue Chyp, a balcony system specialist, predominantly working on South East and London high-rise residential developments, head office based in Ashford.
